Softball Recap: Lake Placid Comes Up Short

After flying high against Clewiston on Monday, Lake Placid came back down to earth. The Dragons took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lakewood Ranch Mustangs on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-4 back in March.

Tara Person was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.

Lake Placid now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Lakewood Ranch, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-7.

Coming up, Lake Placid is taking a road trip to square off against Oxbridge Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The ThunderWolves' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so the Dragons' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Lakewood Ranch, they have already played their next contest, a 3-2 victory against Riverview Sarasota on the 2nd.
