Mellen lost to Butternut back in January, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Mellen Granite Diggers came out on top against the Butternut Midgets by a score of 57-48. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Granite Diggers.

Mellen's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.0 points per game. As for Butternut, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 2-2.

Mellen will venture away from home to take on Drummond at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Butternut, they will be home for the holidays to greet Mercer at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
