Baseball Game Preview: King George Foxes vs. Culpeper County Blue Devils

The King George Foxes will head out to square off against the Culpeper County Blue Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. King George's pitching crew has only allowed 1.8 runs per game this season, so Culpeper County's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

King George will bounce into Friday's contest after beating Courtland, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Foxes came out on top in a nail-biter against the Cougars on Tuesday, sneaking past 1-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Foxes have posted since May 8, 2025.

Meanwhile, Culpeper County hadn't done well against Caroline recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Blue Devils walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Cavaliers. Four seems to be a good number for the Blue Devils as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

King George pushed their record up to 9-4 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.6 runs over those games. As for Culpeper County, their victory bumped their record up to 12-3.

King George beat Culpeper County 5-2 when the teams last played back in April of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Foxes since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
