Basketball Recap: Decatur Piles Up the Points Against Arabia Mountain

Decatur won the last time they faced Arabia Mountain and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Decatur Bulldogs breezed by the Arabia Mountain Rams to the tune of 61-28. That 33 point margin sets a new team best for the Bulldogs this season.

Leading Decatur to victory were Jason Welborn and Quintavious Strozier. Welborn went 9 of 11 en route to 21 points, while Strozier went 5 for 9 to rack up 13 points and three steals. The game was Welborn's eighth in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden Richards, who posted eight points.

Decatur was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Arabia Mountain only racked up four assists.

When it comes to explaining why Arabia Mountain lost, don't look at Colby Johnson. Despite the final result, he put up ten points and five boards.

Decatur has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.5 points over those games. As for Arabia Mountain, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-12.

Coincidentally, Decatur and Arabia Mountain will both be playing Chamblee the next time they take the court. Decatur will head out to face Chamblee at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while Arabia Mountain will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
