Basketball Recap: Redmond Wins High-Profile Matchup Against Issaquah

On Wednesday, Redmond faced Issaquah in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Redmond Mustangs narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Issaquah Eagles 57-54. This was payback for the Mustangs, who suffered a 58-40 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Redmond got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Iha Kasam out in front who went 9 for 18 on her way to 23 points and five rebounds. The matchup was Kasam's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalie West, who went 5 of 8 on her way to 14 points and eight rebounds.

Redmond's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.5 points per game. As for Issaquah, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-3.
