Recap: Wharton vs. Rice Consolidated
The Wharton Tigers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They never let Rice Consolidated onto the board and left with a 5-0 victory. It was an even better day for Bailey Lopez as she scored three goals for her team.
Wharton's win bumped their record up to 2-8-1. As for Rice Consolidated, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wharton has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Bay City at 5:30 p.m. on February 9th. Bay City knows how to get goals on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matches -- so hopefully Wharton likes a good challenge. As for Rice Consolidated, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Palacios at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Rice Consolidated's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.
