Recap: Kamiakin Braves vs. Post Falls Trojans

The Kamiakin Braves had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25.4 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They took down Post Falls 67-51. Given Kamiakin's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked eighth in Washington, while Post Falls is ranked 63rd in Idaho), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Kamiakin's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Aubrie Herrin led the charge by scoring 16 points along with six rebounds and four blocks. Those four blocks set a new season-high mark for her. Emaunii Smith was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and 15 rebounds.

Kamiakin pushed their record up to 7-1 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.5 points per game. As for Post Falls, their loss dropped their record down to 5-9.

Kamiakin and Eastmont will face off at 5:00 p.m. on December 27th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Eastmont will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. Post Falls will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Lewiston at 3:00 p.m. on January 6, 2024.
