Kecoughtan won the last time they faced Warwick, and Caleb Mathews did his part to make sure it happened again. The Kecoughtan Warriors walked away with a 61-51 win over the Warwick Raiders on Monday thanks in part to Mathews, who went 11-for-18 to rack up 33 points and six rebounds. The matchup was his fifth in a row with at least 20 points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Kevin Dryden, who almost dropped a double-double with 13 points and nine boards. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in blocks (five).

The victory made it two in a row for Kecoughtan and bumps their season record up to 11-8. As for Warwick, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.

Kecoughtan and Warwick could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings. Kecoughtan (ranked 136th) will meet Woodside (ranked seventh) at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Similarly, Warwick will take on Hampton at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday down 194 places (237 vs. 43).
