            King's Christian Academy and Takoma Academy squared off in some playoff action  on Thursday, but King's Christian Academy had to settle for second. They lost to the Takoma Academy Tigers on the road  by a   54-37 margin. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup  49-37  back in November of 2024.

 King's Christian Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Destini Shorts, who  almost  dropped  a double-double with 12  points and nine  boards. Shorts is  on a roll when it comes to  rebounds, as she's  now  pulled down nine or more in each of the last seven games she's  played.  Alexa Buckley was another key player,  putting up six points and 12  boards.
King's Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Takoma Academy, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won 11 of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record  this season.
 King's Christian Academy will be taking part in a tournament against Carroll Christian  at 5:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Takoma Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next  game,  a  53-50  defeat against Clinton Grace Christian on the 22nd.
