Football Recap: New Smyrna Beach Triumphs

New Smyrna Beach won against Fort Walton Beach last Saturday with 26 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Tuesday. The New Smyrna Beach Barracudas beat the Seabreeze Sandcrabs by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 26-6. The Barracudas have beaten the Sandcrabs the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Sandcrabs has come to flipping the script.

It was another big night for Emma Corr, who threw for 178 yards and three touchdowns while completing 84.2% of her passes, and also rushed for 76 yards and one touchdown on only ten carries. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in passing touchdowns. Taylor Vance was Corr's top target, picking up 108 receiving yards and one touchdown.

New Smyrna Beach's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Seabreeze, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-4.

Coming up, New Smyrna Beach is taking a road trip to take on Spruce Creek on Thursday. Spruce Creek will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something New Smyrna Beach surely won't give up without a fight. As for Seabreeze, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Pine Ridge at 7:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (Seabreeze 7.9, Pine Ridge 5.8) so any points scored will be well earned.
