Cathedral Prep posted their closest victory since May 23, 2025 on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 win over the General McLane Lancers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 11-2 two weeks ago.

The result came thanks to Frank Thomas's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up ten Ks. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Cathedral Prep's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Owen Fetzner, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

The win made it two in a row for Cathedral Prep and bumps their season record up to 12-4. It's not like the team was facing easy opposition over that stretch either, as it included 6-5 Harbor Creek (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 60.1% over those games). As for General McLane, with the defeat, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-5-1.

Cathedral Prep wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, an 11-1 victory against Fort LeBoeuf on the 6th. As for General McLane, they have also already played their next game, an 8-1 win against Harbor Creek on the 6th.
