Basketball Recap: Laney Takes a Loss

Laney has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 48-43 heartbreaker at the hands of the Butler Bulldogs. The matchup marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Laney's defeat dropped their record down to 16-6. As for Butler, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-8.

Laney and Butler should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings. Laney (ranked 98th) will meet Glenn Hills (ranked 457th) at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Butler will challenge Josey at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday up 337 places (115 vs. 452).
