Basketball Recap: Amaziah Austin's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Fountain Inn over Westside

Fountain Inn was the 44-42 winner over Westside when they last played one another two weeks ago, but their luck changed this time around. The Fountain Inn Fury took a 60-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Westside Rams.

Fountain Inn's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Amaziah Austin, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 12 rebounds. That's the most boards Austin has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Amere Moody, who put up eight points and three steals.

Westside found their leader in sophomore Kmajay Jenkins, who almost dropped a double-double with 20 points and nine rebounds. Jenkins has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last seven times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jayden Heggins, who went 6-for-9 to rack up 14 points.

Fountain Inn's defeat dropped their record down to 14-11. As for Westside, their victory bumped their record up to 17-8.

Fountain Inn does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Westside, they will host Southside at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Westside is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.1 points per game this season.
