Basketball Game Preview: Canton Cobras vs. Plymouth Wildcats

Canton has gone 10-0 against Plymouth recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Canton Cobras will be playing in front of their home fans against the Plymouth Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Canton is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.

Last Tuesday, Canton didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Salem, but they still walked away with a 60-54 win. With that victory, the Cobras brought their scoring average up to 50.6 points per game.

Teddy Winstel was nothing short of spectacular: he went 9 for 15 on his way to 23 points. Those 23 points gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Noa Tarquinto, who posted six points and six steals.

Meanwhile, Plymouth was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 48-42 to Howell. The loss continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Highlanders: they've now lost four in a row.

Plymouth's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Canton, their win bumped their record up to 6-2.

Canton skirted past Plymouth 56-54 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Does Canton have another victory up their sleeve, or will Plymouth turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
