Soccer Recap: Venice Comes Up Short

Venice was the 4-0 winner over Bishop Verot when they last played one another back in January of 2020, but their luck changed this time around. The Venice Indians lost 6-1 to the Bishop Verot Vikings on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 117th, while the Vikings are ranked 30th).

This is the second loss in a row for Venice and nudges their season record down to 6-6-3. As for Bishop Verot, their win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-0-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Venice will host Parrish Community at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bishop Verot, they will welcome Barron Collier at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
