Basketball Recap: Barack Obama School for Social Justice's Loss Ends Three-Game Winning Streak at Home

Barack Obama School for Social Justice entered their match against Byram Hills on Monday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Barack Obama School for Social Justice Lightning took a hard 65-51 fall against the Byram Hills Bobcats. While losing is never fun, the Lightning can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 331st, while the Bobcats are ranked 11th).

Defeat or not, Barack Obama School for Social Justice got some senior leadership from Seediya Jabbi and Raheem Azeez. Jabbi posted ten points and seven boards, while Azeez had 14 points and seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Azeez has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Zaylin Mullins, who earned eight points.

Even though they lost, Barack Obama School for Social Justice smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in nine consecutive games.

Barack Obama School for Social Justice's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-4. As for Byram Hills, their victory bumped their record up to 7-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Barack Obama School for Social Justice will host Woodlands at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Byram Hills, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Byram Hills Bobcats face off against the Walter Panas Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
