Basketball Recap: Wabeno/Laona Now 6-2 over Last Eight Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Almond-Bancroft, Wabeno/Laona was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They secured a 72-67 W over the Crandon Cardinals. This was a revenge game for the Rebels: when they faced off against the Cardinals back in December of 2024, they had to take a 66-62 defeat.

Wabeno/Laona has also been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.3 points per game. As for Crandon, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 7-7.

Wabeno/Laona is taking a road trip to square off against Kickapoo at 4:10 p.m. on Saturday. As for Crandon, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Crandon Cardinals face off against the Florence Bobcats at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
