Basketball Game Preview: Southampton Mariners vs. Babylon Panthers

Babylon is hoping to do what Port Jefferson couldn't on Monday: put an end to Southampton's winning streak, which now stands at four games. Southampton simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Port Jefferson 102-59. The Mariners have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 26 points or more this season.

They pushed their record up to 11-1 with the win, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season.

As for Babylon, they've got a clean slate this season. Last year, they finished on the wrong side of .500 (7-13), but they'll be hoping to turn things around this year.

Everything came up roses for Southampton against Babylon in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, as the squad secured an 82-15 victory. In that contest, Southampton amassed a halftime lead of 42-8, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
