Softball Recap: Modoc Victorious

Modoc won the last time they faced Weed and things went their way on Friday too. The Braves came out on top against the Cougars by a score of 11-7. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Braves.

Modoc let Lynna Wolter and Vivian Huang run wild. Wolter went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Huang went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those three hits gave Wolter a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Emilee Canfield, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Modoc kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4.6 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 9.8.

Modoc's record now sits at 5-11. As for Weed, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-15.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Cougars beat Modoc by a score of 14-3 later that day.
