Baseball Recap: Ross Takes a Loss

Ross extended their losing streak to five on Friday, dropping their season record down to 11-13 in the process. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Central Catholic Fighting Irish. If the Little Giants were looking for revenge after losing 5-2 to the Fighting Irish when the teams met back in May of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Ross saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cade Reineck, who went 2-for-4 with one run.

As for Central Catholic, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-17. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games.

On Central Catholic's side, Dre Wardrop was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Wardrop has become a key player for the Fighting Irish: the team is 4-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-15 otherwise. Josh Rahe was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and one RBI.

As of now, neither Ross nor Central Catholic have any future games scheduled.
