Baseball Game Preview: Montclair Mounties vs. West Essex Knights

The Montclair Mounties are taking a road trip to take on the West Essex Knights at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Montclair lost 13-3 to Verona on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Mounties in their meetings with the Hillbillies: they've now lost three in a row.

Meanwhile, West Essex never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out West Orange 1-0. The Knights haven't had any issues with the Mountaineers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Montclair was able to grind out a solid victory over West Essex in their previous meeting back in April of 2022, winning 11-7. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mounties since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
