Basketball Game Preview: Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies vs. Arlington Cardinals

The Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies will challenge the Arlington Cardinals at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Elk Point-Jefferson took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They walked away with a 47-36 victory over Tri-Valley. Given the Huskies' advantage in MaxPreps' South Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked ninth, while the Mustangs are ranked 46th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Arlington waltzed into their game on Friday with five straight wins... but they left with six. Everything went their way against Estelline/Hendricks as they made off with a 56-33 win.

Arlington has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.6 points per game. As for Elk Point-Jefferson, they pushed their record up to 11-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.
