Softball Recap: Lancaster Takes a Loss

Lancaster lost against Rappahannock on Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Red Devils fell 8-3 to the Raiders. The Red Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kelsie Cox was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI. That double marked the first that she has hit this season.

Lancaster's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Rappahannock, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-3.

Looking ahead, Lancaster will venture away from home to challenge Essex at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Trojans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.31 runs per game on average), something the Red Devils will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Rappahannock, they will host Middlesex at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Raiders have won four straight at home, while the Chargers won five straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
