Baseball Recap: North Providence Takes a Loss

Prout hit North Providence with a four-run fourth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Cougars took a 9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Crusaders. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Crusaders apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Carter Harris made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Tony Abed was another key player, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and two RBI.

North Providence has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-5 record this season. As for Prout, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-8.

Coming up, North Providence will square off against Rogers at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Prout, they will face off against Ponaganset at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
