Basketball Game Preview: Hilliard Red Flashes vs. Madison County Cowboys

Hilliard and Madison County are an even 3-3 against one another since February of 2018, but not for long. The Hilliard Red Flashes will challenge the Madison County Cowboys on Friday.

Hilliard is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They took their match with ease, bagging a 76-34 victory over Lafayette. The Red Flashes have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 22 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Madison County beat Branford 48-42 on Wednesday. Given the Cowboys' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 263rd, while the Buccaneers are ranked 549th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Madison County is also on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season. As for Hilliard, their win bumped their record up to 13-5.

Everything went Hilliard's way against Madison County in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as Hilliard made off with a 66-40 victory. Will Hilliard repeat their success, or does Madison County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
