Faith Baptist School was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 60-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Holly Grove Christian Eagles. One positive for the Falcons, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Faith Baptist School's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Devin Culbertson, who went 7 for 8 on his way to 19 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. That was a full 40.4% of Faith Baptist School's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Sammy Amon HS, who earned 14 points.

Jackson Ellis went supernova for Holly Grove Christian, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 12 boards. Ellis is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: he's pulled down at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucas Creighton, who put up seven points in addition to 12 boards and four steals.

Faith Baptist School's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Holly Grove Christian, their victory ended a 12-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-7.

Faith Baptist School will host Fairwinds Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Holly Grove Christian, they will take on Eastern Shore HomeSchool at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Eastern Shore HomeSchool's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five matches.
