Preview: Glenwood Springs Demons vs. Eagle Valley Devils

Glenwood Springs is 8-2 against Eagle Valley since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Glenwood Springs Demons will look to defend their home court against the Eagle Valley Devils at 7:00 p.m. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Glenwood Springs had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Palisade and snuck past 48-46.

The match pitted two dominant guards against one another in Sim Wenger and Hunter Howard. Wenger had a great game and scored 16 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Meanwhile, Howard did his best for the losing side, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds.

Meanwhile, Eagle Valley didn't have too much trouble with Battle Mountain at home on Monday as they won 67-50. Given Eagle Valley's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 111th, while Battle Mountain is ranked 279th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Glenwood Springs has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a massive bump to their 10-10 record this season. As for Eagle Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 11-8.

Glenwood Springs strolled past Eagle Valley in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 by a score of 73-56. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Eagle Valley's Nikko Von stralendorff, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
