Basketball Recap: Newton Homeschool's Victory on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Newton HomeSchool entered their tilt with Non Varsity Opponent on Monday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 26-14 victory over Non Varsity Opponent. That's the fourth time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 48-8 victory last Thursday.

Newton HomeSchool got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Chloe Hoelscher out in front who posted nine points and seven steals. Hoelscher has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. Krysten Schumm was another key player, putting up two points along with eight rebounds and four steals.

Newton HomeSchool pushed their record up to 10-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Newton HomeSchool will challenge Wichita Defenders HomeSchool at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Newton HomeSchool's defense has only allowed 28.1 points per game this season, so Wichita Defenders HomeSchool's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Non Varsity Opponent, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 46-24 defeat against Reserve on the 11th.
