Reading had to kick off their season on the road on Saturday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top against the Blanchester Wildcats by a score of 5-2. This was payback for the Blue Devils, who suffered a 5-3 loss the last time these two teams met.

Connor Davis made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and not a single walk). Davis was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
