Basketball Recap: Kirbyville Comes Up Short

Kirbyville lost against East Chambers back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Kirbyville Wildcats were outmatched by the East Chambers Buccaneers and fell 82-29. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1519th, while the Buccaneers are ranked 366th).

Kirbyville's defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-16. As for East Chambers, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 22-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Kirbyville Wildcats duke it out with the Orangefield Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for East Chambers, they will take on Warren at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. East Chambers is facing Warren at the right time seeing as Warren is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
