Basketball Recap: Grafton Eiff's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Providence Classical over Non Varsity Opponent

Providence Classical was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 55-34 to Non Varsity Opponent. The Paladins were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Non Varsity Opponent apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.

Providence Classical's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Grafton Eiff, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 16 points along with five assists and four steals. Eiff is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Malachi Thompson, who went 5 for 8 en route to 10 points.

Providence Classical's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.

Providence Classical will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Carolina Christian at 7:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025. Providence Classical is facing Carolina Christian at the right time seeing as Carolina Christian is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Non Varsity Opponent, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 64-52 defeat against Ilwaco on the 16th.
