Baseball Game Preview: Grove City Greyhounds vs. Hilliard Bradley Jaguars

The Grove City Greyhounds will face off against the Hilliard Bradley Jaguars at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Grove City's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Hilliard Bradley's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

On Thursday, Grove City didn't have quite enough to beat Big Walnut and fell 6-4. That's two games in a row now that the Greyhounds have lost by exactly two runs.

Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Hilliard Bradley's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of Lincoln by a score of 3-2.

Hilliard Bradley saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Vince Navarro, who went 3-for-5 with one run. Navarro is becoming a predictor of the Jaguars' success: when he posts at least three hits the team is 2-1 (and 10-12 when he doesn't).

This is the second loss in a row for Grove City and nudges their season record down to 16-9. Even worse, they were so close both times: the defeats came by an average of only two runs. As for Hilliard Bradley, they now have a losing record of 12-13.
