Volleyball Preview: Nokomis Redskins vs. Altamont Indians
Nokomis and Altamont are an even 3-3-1 against one another since September of 2017, but not for long. The Nokomis Redskins will square off against the Altamont Indians at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Nokomis is looking to tack on another W to their six-game streak on the road.
Nokomis saw some tournament action on Saturday. They came out on top against Meridian by a score of 2-0.
Nokomis easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-12.
Nokomis was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 12 aces. They are a perfect 11-0 when they serve at least ten aces.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Altamont's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wayne City.
The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-11.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Hope Roedl, who had 14 digs. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Rippetoe, who had seven digs and four kills.
Nokomis is on a roll lately: they've won 18 of their last 19 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 30-4 record this season. As for Altamont, their loss dropped their record down to 14-18.
