Softball Recap: Wilson Area Warriors vs. Bangor Slaters

Wilson Area had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They skirted past the Bangor Slaters 8-7. For Wilson Area, this counts as revenge for the 19-17 defeat Bangor walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2023.

Tessa Fredericks was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits. Fredericks was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-4 with a home run, six RBI, and two doubles.

In other batting news, Wilson Area let Aerynne Mays and Addison Hoff loose on the outfield. Mays scored two runs while going 1-for-3, while Hoff scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Bangor are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.
