Fossil Ridge entered their tilt with Fort Collins on Friday with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. They came out on top against the Fort Collins Lambkins by a score of 63-53. For the SaberCats, this counts as revenge for the 65-50 win the Lambkins walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2024.

Fossil Ridge was led to victory by Addilyn Sandstedt and Gianna Leone. Sandstedt went 9 of 15 on her way to 24 points and four steals, while Leone posted 11 points along with eight boards and six steals. Those six steals gave Leone a new career-high. Maddie Kubat was another key player, putting up six points in addition to seven rebounds and six steals.

Fossil Ridge smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive boards in eight consecutive matches.

When it comes to explaining why Fort Collins lost, don't look at Annika Vandalen. Despite the final result, she went 8 for 15 en route to 18 points along with six boards and four steals. Natalie Lloyd also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Fossil Ridge pushed their record up to 8-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.2 points per game. As for Fort Collins, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.

Fossil Ridge has already played their next game, an 83-79 win against Mountain Vista on the 11th. As for Fort Collins, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 60-47 victory against Loveland on the 14th.
