Nucla had won four straight games and Brycen Rummel did his part to make it five on Friday. The Mustangs came out on top against the Caprock Academy Eagles by a score of 56-43 with plenty of help from Rummel, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and ten boards. He has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 29 times he's played.

Holten McCluer was another key player, going 7-for-14 on his way to 15 points. Thanks to that strong game, he now owns an excellent 45.1% field goal percentage.

Caprock Academy's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tristin Bird, who posted 12 points. Another player making a difference was Braedyn Paulsen, who had six points.

Nucla's record is now 5-0. As for Caprock Academy, they dropped their record down to 1-4 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Nucla wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 74-53 victory against Soroco on the 13th. As for Caprock Academy, they have also already played their next game, a 51-45 win against Telluride on the 13th.
