Basketball Recap: West Iredell Takes a Loss

West Iredell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 14th straight defeat. They were dealt a 56-26 loss at the hands of the Statesville Greyhounds. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 63-22 back in January.

Saniah Davidson had a dynamite game for Statesville, going 6 for 15 en route to 13 points in addition to six boards and five steals. Davidson is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Symerria Harris, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.

West Iredell's defeat dropped their record down to 1-20. As for Statesville, they moved to 7-13 with that win, which also ended their six-game losing streak.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Iredell has already played their next match (against Hickory), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Statesville will challenge North Iredell at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Statesville has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
