Volleyball Game Preview: Mission Vista vs. San Dieguito Academy Mustangs

Mission Vista are taking a road trip to take on the San Dieguito Academy Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Mission Vista is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Torrey Pines just ended the team's seven-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Falcons.

Meanwhile, San Dieguito Academy also suffered a loss in their last game, falling to Sage Creek by a score of 3-1. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The final score came out to 25-18, 18-25, 25-13, 25-21.

Mission Vista will have to keep a close watch on Noah Ansaldo and Robbie Hacker, a pair of players who had a big impact on San Dieguito Academy's prior game. Ansaldo had 16 digs and two aces, while Hacker had 14 assists and eight digs. Ansaldo is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had ten or more in each of the last four games he's played.

Mission Vista's loss dropped their record down to 19-13. As for San Dieguito Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 20-15.

Mission Vista took their win against San Dieguito Academy in their previous matchup back in April by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mission Vista since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
