Baseball Recap: St. John's Comes Up Short

St. John lost to Carvers Bay back in May of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Islanders fell just short of the Bears by a score of 4-3. The Islanders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Antonio Hernandez was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over 6.1 innings while giving up four earned runs off five hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI.

Hernandez wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Micah Davison, who went 2-for-4 with one triple and one run.

St. John's loss dropped their record down to 13-12. As for Carvers Bay, their victory ended a 16-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-22.

As of now, neither St. John's nor the Bears have any future games scheduled.
