After a string of three wins, Charlestown's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell just short of the South Ripley Raiders by a score of 2-1.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Charlestown sadly wound up on the wrong side. The match finished with set scores of 27-25, 20-25, 15-11.

Kylie Thacker paced Charlestown's offense, picking up 11 kills. Thacker got some help from Adi Burchel and her 18 assists. Desi Witt controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Charlestown's defeat dropped their record down to 14-18. As for South Ripley, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 19-12.

Looking ahead, Charlestown will square off against Scottsburg at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for South Ripley, they have already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Switzerland County on the 11th.
