After a string of five wins, Solon's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell just short of the Benton Bobcats by a score of 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Spartans have suffered since June 13, 2024.

Solon's loss dropped their record down to 13-9. As for Benton, they have been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 15 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season.

Solon will face off against Assumption at 7:00 a.m. on Wednesday. As for Benton, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 12-3 victory against Anamosa on the 24th.
