Baseball Recap: Camarillo Sets Scoring Season-High Against Buena

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Camarillo). They put the hurt on the Buena Bulldogs with a sharp 10-4 win on Thursday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Scorpions considering their one-run performance the matchup before.

Andrew Aragon made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Travis Wade, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Corsten Victoria, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Camarillo's record is now 4-9. As for Buena, their record is now 6-5.

Camarillo and Buena could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. Camarillo will face off against Moorpark at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday down 359 places (683 vs. 324). Meanwhile, Buena (ranked 446th) will meet Thousand Oaks (ranked 107th) at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
