Soccer Game Preview: Charles Page vs. Coweta

The Charles Page Sandites are taking a road trip to square off against the Coweta Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Charles Page is likely headed into the match with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Edison last Thursday. Charles Page fell just short of Edison by a score of 2-1. While losing is never fun, Charles Page can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma soccer rankings (they are ranked 37th, while Edison are ranked third).

Charles Page's goal came courtesy of Zac Ritter, who's now up to six this season.

Meanwhile, Coweta fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Pryor last Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of Pryor by a score of 2-1. Coweta's defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Coweta's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Charles Page, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 3-3.

Charles Page took their victory against Coweta when the teams last played back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Charles Page since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
