Patriot - Stripes recap September 24, 2013
Fans got a thrill when Roger Engle and Alex Pearson connected against Keystone. The connection went for 97 yards, the longest such play in Patriot - Stripes this season.
Fairview extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Wellington, 21-0. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.
Jay Banyasz and Jacob Kleinhenz gave Columbia a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Banyasz threw for 248 yards and 4 touchdowns, while Kleinhenz ran for 81 yards. Teammate Tristen Rindfleisch added to the ground attack by rushing for 73 yards.
Banyasz and Kleinhenz gave the Raiders a balanced attack in passing and rushing last week.
Kleinhenz was the most successful running back in the league this week.
Banyasz put up the best numbers through the air as Columbia beat Firelands. Banyasz's favorite target this week was Tyler Edmiston, who caught 2 passes for 78 yards.
Pearson was the best receiver in Patriot - Stripes this week as Clearview fell to the Wildcats. Pearson tallied 8 receptions for 167 yards. Lance Billings helped Clearview's passing attack out by catching 9 balls for 117 yards.
Engle provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Clippers lost to Keystone. He completed 19 passes for 295 yards and 3 touchdowns and also ran for 33 yards.
Clearview's Engle and Billings have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Engle has thrown for 1,003 yards this season, while Billings has 23 catches for 399 yards. Banyasz from Jason Ward's team leads the league in rushing with 387 yards.
The Raiders took down the Falcons 49-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. Banyasz ran for 16 yards in the win.
