Softball Game Preview: Dominican Knights vs. St. Catherine's Angels

For the second straight game, Dominican will face off against St. Catherine. The Knights will look to defend their home field on Thursday against the Angels at 4:30 p.m. Dominican will come into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.

Dominican proved they can win big two weeks ago (they won by 11) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 victory over St. Catherine's.

For St. Catherine's part, Annika Munoz put in work while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Munoz has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Londyn Pardo was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.

St. Catherine's now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Dominican, their win bumped their record up to 7-0.

Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Dominican hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .353. However, it's not like St. Catherine's struggles in that department as they've averaged .324. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
