Basketball Recap: Rylee Johnson Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Gross Catholic

After losing to Gross Catholic the last time they met, Plattsmouth decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Plattsmouth Blue Devils secured a 61-56 W over the Gross Catholic Cougars on Tuesday.

Plattsmouth's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Rylee Johnson led the charge by going 6 of 15 on his way to 18 points and seven boards. That's the most points Johnson has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Logan Ksiazek, who went 5 for 11 en route to 14 points.

Plattsmouth's victory bumped their record up to 9-10. As for Gross Catholic, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-14.

Plattsmouth is taking a road trip to face off against Concordia on Friday. Plattsmouth is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.9 points per game this season. Gross Catholic has already played their next matchup (against Skutt Catholic), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
