Baseball Recap: Everglades Gators vs. Ferguson Falcons
It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Everglades ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They won by a run and slipped past the Ferguson Falcons 3-2. That's two games straight that the Gators have won by just one run.
Gabriel Billini was excellent, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI. That stolen base marked the first that he's stolen this season. Another player making a difference was Matthew Urena, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.
The win made it two in a row for Everglades and bumps their season record up to 2-3. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of one runs across that stretch. As for Ferguson, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 1-1-1.
Coming up, Everglades will head out to square off against South Broward at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. We've got a battle between Falcons coming up. The last four games Ferguson has played (dating back to last season) have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
