Piedmont has gone a perfect 10-0 against Monroe recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Panthers will head out to challenge the Redhawks at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Piedmont has three straight victories, Monroe has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

It was a proper cat-fight when Piedmont challenged Anson on Thursday. The Panthers put the hurt on the Bearcats with a sharp 9-0 win. The result was nothing new for Piedmont, who have now won seven contests by three goals or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Monroe fell victim to Union Academy and their airtight defense on Thursday. They came up short against the Cardinals, falling 6-0. While losing is never fun, Monroe can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 466th, while Union Academy are ranked 133rd).

Piedmont's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-3-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 37 goals over those five games. As for Monroe, their loss dropped their record down to 1-9.

Piedmont took their victory against Monroe in their previous meeting back in March by a conclusive 9-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
