Basketball Recap: Alpena Takes a Loss

Alpena lost against Traverse City Central back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Alpena Wildcats were dealt a 69-38 loss at the hands of the Traverse City Central Trojans. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 413th, while the Trojans are ranked 78th).

Alpena has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for Traverse City Central, they pushed their record up to 8-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Alpena will challenge Rudyard at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Alpena is facing Rudyard at the right time seeing as Rudyard is stuck on a five-game losing streak. Traverse City Central has already played their next contest (against Ludington), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
