Basketball Recap: Hanover Beats Wallace County for Their Ninth Straight Victory

It's playoff time, and Hanover had no trouble coming through when it counted. They took down Wallace County 64-49 on Wednesday. Given Hanover's advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked third, while Wallace County is ranked 49th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite the loss, Wallace County still got an impressive performance from Jersi Benisch, who shot 50% from the field to rack up 30 points along with six boards and three steals. With that strong performance, Benisch is now averaging an impressive 15.6 points per game. Jaelyn Daily was another key player, putting up four points in addition to six rebounds and five assists.

The win was the ninth in a row for Hanover, bringing their record for this year to 20-2. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.9 points over those games. As for Wallace County, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 17-5.
